Squirrel life is not all nuts and games. In Squirrel or Die (SoD), you face the life and death dilemmas of the modern tree rodent. Do you have what it takes to be the last vermin standing?
Game play is split into Autumn (hide stuff) and Winter (eat stuff) phases. Your goal is to be the only squirrel to survive winter.
In the Autumn phase, you take turns discovering new cards and setting up the board. In the Winter phase, you consume what you “squirreled away” in autumn trying to outlast everyone else.
Fun and easy to learn. There are a bunch of cards that will eventually make up a 5 x 5 grid board. Players take turns placing them face down with only the player that placed the card knowing what’s on the hidden side.
The goal is to not get a dead squirrel, but instead get a flower or a piece of fruit. There are some cards that give you extra health and some that give you extra death. Once you get three dead squirrels, you’re out. Last player out, wins the game.
See, really simple, but there is a little strategy. You have to watch and remember where you place your own cards, but that can backfire if someone takes one you placed and leaves you guessing.
